RIYADH, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia will host on Monday the International Conference for Disaster Medicine in the capital Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency reported Sunday.

Organized by the Saudi Health Ministry, the two-day conference will be held under the theme "Towards All-Hazards Approach For Emergency Preparedness And Response."

The conference, which will be attended by experts and specialists from inside and outside the kingdom, aims to establish an excellent platform to exchange knowledge and experience in all topics related to disaster medicine and crisis management.

The event comes amid the rising tension in the region after attacks on oil tankers and commercial ships.
