BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan folk musician Hu Te-fu is to perform a concert at Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on August 2, the venue's organizer said Tuesday.

With Hu's most celebrated songs such as "Child on the Back of a Water Buffalo" and "In a Flash" on the playlist, the concert will present Hu's tribute to life and land to its listeners, the organizer said.

Hu said through the concert, he wished to convey to Beijing's audience an artistic landscape wherein music and nature are intertwined.

Born in 1950 in Taitung, Hu led a "folk music movement" with two other musicians in the 1970s, which advocated writing and singing folk songs in Chinese and deeply influenced Chinese pop music at the time.
