ACCRA, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Ghana whitewashed Gabon 4-0 in the first leg of the penultimate round of the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers played at the Accra sports stadium on Saturday.

Four goals were scored by Kwabena Owusu, Bernard Terkpetey and Osman Bukari (2).

The return leg is at the Augustin Monedan stadium in Libreville, Gabon next Tuesday.

The 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations will be held from Nov. 8-22 in Egypt.

The tournament in Egypt will pick three African teams to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan.
