Villagers take part in a yangge dance rehearsal in Wangzhuanggou Village, Wuxiang County of north China's Shanxi Province, Feb. 15, 2019. For generations, residents of Wangzhuanggou Village barely scraped a living as a result of geographical isolation. However, a great change has been made since a series of poverty relief programs were launched in 2014. The whole village has been lifted out of poverty by the year of 2018 with the per capita annual income rising to 6,100 yuan (907 U.S. dollars) that enables villagers to spend on an grand celebration of the Spring Festival with a three-day theatrical performance.
