MEXICO CITY, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Colombia international striker Marlos Moreno has signed with Mexico's Santos Laguna on loan from Manchester City.

The move follows a frustrating 12-month spell at Brazil's Flamengo, where the 22-year-old managed just one goal in 21 league appearances.

"We would like to announce the signing of Marlos Moreno on a temporary basis," the Liga MX club said in a statement on Friday. "He is a fast player, who stands out or his dribbling and ability to break down defense."

Moreno, who has been capped eight times for Colombia's national team, began his career at Atletico Nacional and helped the Medellin club win the 2016 Copa Libertadores.

He was signed by Manchester City in August 2016 and had unsuccessful loan spells at Deportivo La Coruna and Girona before joining Flamengo last January.

The forward's contract with Manchester City expires in June 2021.
