BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Defensa y Justicia climbed to second in the Superliga Argentina standings on Saturday with a 3-0 home victory over Colon.

Ciro Rius and Ignacio Aliseda struck first-half goals before Gaston Togni completed the rout in the 79th minute at the Norberto Tomaghello stadium on the southern outskirts of Buenos Aires.

Defensa y Justicia are the only unbeaten team in the competition, having won eight and drawn six of their 14 matches this season.

Saturday's result left the side three points behind leaders Racing Club, who were due to host San Martin San Juan on Sunday.

Colon dropped to 17th in the 26-team standings with three wins, seven draws and five losses.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Estudiantes drew 1-1 at San Lorenzo, Banfield won 1-0 a Union Santa Fe and Lanus beat Talleres Cordoba 2-1 at home.
