MUMBAI, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- The 20th Jio Mumbai International Film Festival organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI), kicked off Thursday, and will continue till November 1.

The film festival, considered as Asia's biggest film festival, brings together renowned film talent from all over the world, converging with the Indian industry from across the country in Mumbai.

MAMI was founded in 1997 by renowned film professionals from the Indian Film Industry.

This year's film festival will screen 220 movies in 18 different screens across 10 venues in Mumbai.

"Jio and the Star Network are the festival's primary sponsors and this year, the films screened in the India Story section are eligible for the Audience Choice Award of 13,660.27 USD. Fourteen new titles will premiere at the festival, which includes 12 world premieres. The top prize, the Golden Getaway trophy is a cash prize of 34,150.68 USD", reported Live Mint.
