BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- China has chosen 3x3 basketball player Wang Yunzhang as its flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the Summer Youth Olympic Games here Saturday.

The 17-year-old is due to compete in the 3x3 basketball event which gets underway tomorrow alongside Chu Tianyi, Guo Jiwang and Wang Zipeng.

Wang, a high-school student in Mianyang, southwest China's Sichuan Province, stands 1.98m tall and started to play basketball at the age of 7.

China will compete in 24 of the 32 sports at Buenos Aires 2018 and the Chinese delegation consists of 82 athletes, with 32 men and 50 women.
