WINDHOEK, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's national football team lost 1-0 to Botswana in an international friendly match played in Gaborone, capital of Botswana on Sunday.

Coach Ricardo Mannetti said that lack of match fitness was again exposed as Botswana's Teenage Orebonye scored the only goal of the match.

"Lack of match fitness was evident in this game. The game started of very slowly but we had a much better second half with our goal keeper, Ratanda Mbazuvara being spectator," he said.

Mannetti said that the result was never his priority considering that Namibia still has no domestic football league action, and he was happy that his players could get some game time on the pitch.

Despite the loss, Mannetti was content with some key players from his locally based squad.

"I am happy that the key players got 90 minutes so they can be better prepared for the Mozambique encounter," he added.

The next official game for Namibia will be an African Cup of Nations qualifier away in Mozambique on Oct. 13 and the return league is Windhoek on Oct. 16. The final home game will be against Guinea Bissau between Nov. 12-20.
