ISTANBUL, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out on Friday at a nursing home in Istanbul, forcing the evacuation of the building, local media reported.

The incident happened at the Sultangazi Nursing Home located at the Sultangazi district, the NTV broadcaster said.

Firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the area and residents were evacuated in a short time period, NTV said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, the broadcaster said, noting the firefighters were trying to determine whether anyone was trapped inside.
