DUBAI, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday sent a cable of condolences to his Tanzanian counterpart, John Magufuli, over a deadly ferry accident in Tanzania.

According to UAE government news agency WAM, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi, also sent similar messages to the the Tanzanian President.

A ferry capsized in Lake Victoria on Thursday, which has killed at least 226 people, Tanzanian authorities said.
