MINSK, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Martin Sajdik, special representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), on Wednesday expressed satisfaction with the results of the ceasefire in the conflict zone in east Ukraine starting from July 1.

"I am glad that the agreed truce brings the result, the number of ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine has significantly decreased since it came into force, although there is a tendency for growth over the past two days," Sajdik said following the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) meeting in Minsk.

The diplomat recalled that two weeks ago the conflicting parties reaffirmed their commitment to a comprehensive, sustainable and timeless ceasefire from July 1.

According to the latest information, only one case of injury among the civilian population was recorded during the truce, Sajdik said.

On behalf of the TCG, Sajdik expressed gratitude and supported the efforts of those who actually observe the truce. He also urged conflicting parties to strictly observe the full truce in the future.

The next meeting of the TCG in Minsk is scheduled for July 25.

The TCG is a group of representatives from Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE that was formed to facilitate a diplomatic solution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
