MADRID, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares gained on Friday, with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 up 0.65 percent or 65.30 points to 10,104.10 points.

A total of 24 of the selected 35 large companies rose in the day.

Airline group IAG advanced 5.66 percent, being the top gainer of the day. Steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal rose 2.80 percent and Spain's fifth largest bank Banco Sabadell was up 2.45 percent.

Supermarket chain DIA lost 5.81 percent, being the top loser of the blue chips. Renewable energy company Siemens Gamesa was down 2.29 percent and consultancy and technology company Indra A went down 1.92 percent. Enditem
