BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) -- A total of 14 people were elected vice-chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC), the top legislature, on Saturday.

Yang Zhenwu was elected secretary-general of the 13th NPC Standing Committee.

Wang Chen, born in December 1950, is a member of the Political Bureau of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee. He was a vice chairman and secretary-general of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC. He was a member of the 16th, 17th and 18th CPC Central Committees.
