ANKARA, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Thirty-one Turkish soldiers have been killed and 143 others wounded since Ankara launched military operation in northern Syria last month, Turkish military said on Monday.

None of the injured is in life-threatening condition now, according to a written statement issued by Turkish General Staff on its website.

A total of 1,369 militants of People's Protection Units (YPG), Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Islamic State have been "neutralized," the military said, referring to those killed but also those captured or wounded.

Since the beginning of the operation, airstrikes have also destroyed 627 targets used by enemy, including shelters, hideouts, ammunition depots and weapons emplacements, the military added.

On Jan. 20, Turkey launched "Operation Olive Branch" to clear YPG militants from Afrin in northwestern Syria.

Turkey considers the YPG to be the Syrian affiliates of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
