HARARE, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Zimbabwean customs officials at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Sunday intercepted more than 5 kg of cocaine worth over 430,000 U.S. dollars and apprehended a 34-year-old South African woman who had arrived from Angola.

Thlinolui Jack appeared in court on Tuesday charged with dealing in dangerous drugs and was remanded in custody to Jan. 16, the state run media Herald reported Wednesday.

Prosecutor Linda Gadzikwa alleged that on Dec. 31, customs officials alerted drugs and narcotics detectives to Jack's suspicious baggage after it went through the scanner, leading the detectives to search it.

They found 125 black bobbins of white sewing thread containing a whitish powder stashed in the holes, and when they tested it came out positive for cocaine.

Gadzikwa said the powder weighed 5.382 kg with an estimated value of 430,560 U.S. dollars.
