BISHKEK, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Kyrgyzstan State Tax Service (STS) has fulfilled its annual tax and fee collection plan ahead of schedule for the first time since the country gained independence, the national Kabar news agency reported Wednesday.

The STS-approved plan of 268.32 billion soms (around 3.06 billion U.S. dollars) in taxes to be collected in 2025 was fully met, demonstrating sustainable growth in tax revenues and the effectiveness of the country's reforms.

According to preliminary estimates, the total volume of taxes and fees could exceed 300 billion soms by the end of this year.

From January to November, the STS collected 275.74 billion soms in taxes and fees. Compared with the same period last year, revenue increased by 71.88 billion soms.

Insurance premium collection also improved with a total of 74.57 billion soms. Compared with the first 11 months of 2024, collections were up 7.68 billion soms.

Growth of the tax and insurance premium revenue was driven by an expanded taxpayer base, digitalization of processes, and increased voluntary tax payment, the STS said. ■
