ALGIERS, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday carried out a partial cabinet reshuffle, the presidency said in a statement.
Under the changes, Mohamed Arkab was appointed Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons, while Mourad Hanifi was named Minister of Mines and Mining Industries.
The reshuffle mainly targeted two key sectors of the national economy, hydrocarbons and mining, which were previously managed under a single portfolio led by Mohamed Arkab.
Observers said the move reflects efforts by the authorities to further boost development in both sectors, which have seen sustained growth and increasing strategic importance in recent years, with several projects already launched and others in the pipeline. ■
