BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met with renowned Egyptian sinologist and publisher Ahmed Mohamed Elsaid Soliman in Beijing on Tuesday.

Fu spoke highly of the Egyptian scholar's contribution to advancing cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and the Arab countries through promoting the cooperation on translation and publication of Chinese books in several Arab states.

Stressing that Xinhua has long been not only a witness and narrator, but also an active participant and promoter of China-Arab friendship, Fu said Xinhua stands ready to serve as envoys of cultural exchanges, tell the stories of China-Arab friendship and cooperation, and contribute to the common prosperity of world civilizations.

The Egyptian sinologist noted that as the world currently faces common challenges, China's concepts, such as building a community with a shared future for humanity, have become even more relevant to the times. He expressed readiness to play his part in building a bridge of people-to-people exchanges and promoting Arab-China cooperation. ■
