CUSCO, Peru, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Bruno Henrique and Giorgian de Arrascaeta scored second-half goals to lead Flamengo to a 2-0 away win over Cusco in their Copa Libertadores opener on Wednesday.
The visitors opened the scoring just before the hour when Henrique met an Ayrton Lucas cross from the left wing with a glancing header that beat goalkeeper Pedro Diaz at his near post.
Uruguayan midfielder De Arrascaeta put the result beyond doubt in the 92nd minute, heading in after his initial effort was kept out by Diaz.
Cusco had only two shots on target and would have suffered a heavier defeat if not for Diaz, who made nine saves.
Elsewhere in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday, Sporting Cristal won 1-0 at home to Cerro Porteno, Junior Barranquilla drew 1-1 at home to Palmeiras, Estudiantes drew 1-1 at Independiente Medellin, Coquimbo was held to a 1-1 home draw by Nacional Montevideo and Mirassol edged to a 1-0 home win over Lanus. ■
