BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Friday chaired a State Council executive meeting during which arrangements were made for the implementation of the decisions and plans of the Central Economic Work Conference.
It is imperative to accelerate the formulation of specific implementation plans to ensure that all tasks are effectively carried out, the meeting stated, urging coordinated efforts across departments to address challenges.
Efforts should be made to consolidate and expand the steady progress in the economy and ensure a good start for the 15th Five-Year Plan, the meeting noted.
The meeting reviewed progress on a three-year workplace safety campaign, underscoring that workplace safety must never be overlooked as it concerns people's lives and property as well as economic and social stability. Efforts should focus on prevention, with close attention to key sectors, prominent problems, and weak links, to resolutely prevent and curb major accidents.
Regarding a comprehensive solid waste management campaign, the meeting stressed the need to firmly curb the growth of solid waste. Priority should be given to treating waste closely related to people's livelihoods and workplace safety. It is essential to improve the resource utilization of solid waste and leverage market forces to promote the circular economy.
The meeting reviewed and adopted a draft regulation on the implementation of the country's value-added tax law to ensure its smooth implementation and safeguard taxpayers' rights.
It also reviewed and adopted a draft regulation on commercial mediation. ■
