GAZA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian died on Tuesday of wounds he suffered in May during anti-Israel protests along the Gaza-Israel border, the Gaza health ministry said.
Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman for the ministry, identified the 26-year-old young man as Majd Aqeel.
Aqeel was shot on May 14, when thousands of Palestinians in Gaza marched against the 70th anniversary of Israel's declaration of independence.
More than 146 Palestinians have been killed since March 30, the first day of the ongoing Palestinian "Great March of Return" rally.
The protests, which peak every Friday, demand the return of Palestinian refugees, who were forced to leave their homes during the Arab-Israeli war in 1948, and the lift of the blockade Israel has imposed on Gaza since 2007.
